I really liked the Monday night for the last event at Cagney's... the upstairs was closed to other people so we got the entire place! Marcia

Alright everyone... we're having another event at Cagney's. It's a place that's willing to let us play regular card games, reserve sections, offer us group discounts, and let us play all night! Sounds great, right? They'll even help recruit for our group! Cagney's is a new restaurant/sports bar that opened up on the north side just a couple months ago. As far as discounts for our group, so far they're offering $4 house wines, $3 domestic drafts, and $4 well drinks! If we get 20 - 25 people, we'll even get an hour of free bud light! The start time will be 6 pm, but I will be there around 5:30 right after I get off work. If you can't make it at 6 - no worries! We'll be there all night, playing whatever you want - mostly spades, but euchre, hearts, cribbage, and canasta may make an appearance... if you don't know all those games - no worries! We've got so many members that play a variety of games we'll get you with a group of whatever game you want! I hope to see you all there - and feel free to bring your friends! A little last minute, I know, but it's the last event I'll be able to do until a week or so after labor day. Come join us for a relaxed afternoon at home of playing spades! And for those of you interested in continuing the games through the evening, the Bears are playing! Games have been going great! We have a several regulars and are meeting new people all the time. Some of us have been playing for 20 years and others are just learning, so you will definitely fit in! We will be meeting at Marcia's condo on the North side of Rogers Park. We will send her specific address out to players who have RSVPd as we get closer to the event. It is a short walk from the Howard stop if you are taking the red (or purple) line. Also, there is free on-street parking. FYI - Marcia lives on the 3rd floor and there are no elevators. Also, she has a cat... well, 2 now... but we can lock them in the bedroom and there are hardwood floors so people with minor allergies usually don't have a problem. First of all, let me apologize for the lack of a meetup scheduled for the last month. Normally we have a game at least every month, usually every 2 or 3 weeks, but I dropped the ball on this one. Sorry guys! Second, I'm trying out Monday night so we don't conflict with Salsa night... and since it's Monday, I'm hoping we see Bill... I know he's always busy on Wednesdays.
