We have been having so much fun that we are adding another night where we don't have to wake up early for work the next morning! We will be meeting at Marcia's condo on the North side of Rogers Park. Cozy, good booze (supplemented by what you bring!), music, we can order pizza, relax, and hang out. Please bring $5-$10 for pizza if I decide against cooking. We will send her specific address out to players who have RSVPd as we get closer to the event. It is a short walk from the Howard stop if you are taking the red (or purple) line. Also, there is free on-street parking. FYI - Marcia lives on the 3rd floor and there are no elevators. Also, she has a cat but we can lock her in the bedroom and there are hardwood floors so people with minor allergies usually don't have a problem. Questions or comments - email or call.

We've got something new!! One of our members, Ron, has offered us the use of his bridge club for a spades games. There are tons of tables - hopefully sometime soon we can try a tournament if we have enough people. He has also offered Bridge lessons before the start of the game for anyone that's interested. I DEFINITELY want to learn to play - and am hoping there are a few others so I have some people to play with while I learn! Even if you already know how to play, I hope you'll come so we have enough. There is no alcohol, but there is a small kitchen at Ron's club. He will be providing food, so we are charging for this meetup. If you cannot afford it and would like to come anyway, please talk to me and we can work something out. The Spades game will start at 2 pm. The bridge lessons for an hour before start at 1pm. I hope we can have a good turnout for this new location! Here's what Ron has to say about getting there, parking, and food... "it's probably much easier for everyone to find 4732 w peterson. that address belongs to the "saugansh restaurant" which has an eight foot high sign that says "sauganash restaurant" visible to anyone within a block of the place. our bridge club is the business directly upstairs of the restaurant. the entrance is the first door around the corner from the restaurant entrance. there is a huge parking lot directly across the street, on peterson...with all the free parking you could ever want. there's a sign that threatens to tow your car...no problem...just park there. i pay a monthly fee so that all of my club members can park in that lot. not one of our members has been towed in 8 years.
i'll be happy to provide ham and/or turkey sandwiches on premium bread, cole slaw, potato salad, coffee, cookies, pretzels, and salsa and chips. i can get by with charging just $7 per person for all that, which i hope will seem like quite a bargain (my bridge club members pay $10 for the same spread when they come for bridge)" Please email me or call with any questions! Since my weekends are pretty full over the next few weeks, I'm having a Spades game after work at Exchequer (flashback to when we first started hosting) down in the loop... We'll have 2 tables, hopefully in the back, where we can play cards. We're limiting this to 8 people so we can have 2 games but not take up too much space - first come first serve! Feel free to come anytime after 6 - the earlier the better, but if you can't make it til 7 or so that's fine too, just let me know. We'll play til about 9 or so. Some of us have been playing for 20 years and others are just learning, so you will definitely fit in! We will be meeting at Marcia's condo on the North side of Rogers Park. So we've had so many people that like to sing ... we're gonna meet at my place and play spades, have some drinks, order some pizza... and then around 10 we're going to head to karaoke!! Show up for spades and leave whenever - or join us for both! We'll be going to Gio's - a bar in Lincoln Square near where I used to live. There's no cover charge, it's a small place and there's a GREAT host.
